At this point, it just makes sense. Battle.net, while it may carry plenty of nostalgia as a term for longtime players and fans of the PC juggernaut’s legion of titles, doesn’t really make any sense to players today, especially those who are coming to Blizzard titles via console or mobile. Switching over to just calling things “Blizzard X, Blizzard Y” is easy to understand and unifies the brand seams without any possibility of cracks or confusion.
