The year is finally coming to a close and everyone is beginning to reflect on everything that has happened over the last 12 months. If you’re like us, you’re thinking heavily about the games you played.
While most are looking back at the best releases they played (and we will be soon enough), I want to ask you about the game you spent the most time with. While those sometimes go hand-in-hand, they don’t always. Sometimes, the games we love the most are compact experiences that don’t overstay their welcomes, while other times, they’re the games we can come back to after each long day at work. Personally, I probably spent the most time with Overwatch, Clash Royale, Pokémon Go, Final Fantasy XV, Dragon Quest Builders, and Pokémon Sun. I also spent a ton of time with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt early on in 2016 as I finished up my playthrough that started in 2015.
Which games consumed the most amount of your time in 2016? Were they long, sprawling RPGs, or were they multiplayer games with seemingly infinite replayability? Did these games end up being your favorites of the year, or did you favor some of the shorter experiences you played through this year?
